Shafi Lodhi, MD, is a forensic neuropsychiatrist and expert witness with offices in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Research Triangle of North Carolina. Board-certified in Psychiatry and in Forensic Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, he completed dual Stanford fellowships in neuropsychiatry and forensic psychiatry and evaluates how brain injury and illness affect behavior, cognition, and the law.

Shafi Lodhi, MD, is a forensic neuropsychiatrist and expert witness with offices in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Research Triangle of North Carolina. He is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry and in Forensic Psychiatry and completed dual fellowships at Stanford University School of Medicine in neuropsychiatry and in forensic psychiatry. He evaluates how traumatic brain injury, dementia, and neuropsychiatric illness change behavior and cognition, and he explains those findings to courts. He is a Neuropsychiatry Consultant at Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley and previously served as Part-Time Clinical Instructor of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School, and Staff Psychiatrist, Massachusetts General Hospital (2024–2025).

Dr. Lodhi has presented at the European Congress of Psychiatry (Madrid, 2025), the International Congress on Law and Mental Health (Barcelona, 2024), and the American Psychiatric Association Annual Meeting (2023 and 2024), and he has delivered continuing legal education on traumatic brain injury for legal professionals. His peer-reviewed work appears in the Journal of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law and the Journal of Neurochemistry, and he wrote a chapter in the Oxford University Press Primer on Emergency Psychiatry. He is also the creator of the LODHI-A, a structured interview for assessing adult ADHD that is offered free to licensed clinicians. Availability and Format
Dr. Lodhi is based in the Research Triangle of North Carolina, keeps both Eastern and Pacific working hours, and maintains a San Francisco Bay Area practice. He is remote-studio ready for live and taped interviews by video or phone and can accommodate broadcast, podcast, and print formats. For time-sensitive stories, please state your outlet and deadline in the first message, and he will prioritize accordingly. Where a topic touches an active case or an identifiable patient, he will speak only to the general science and will note the limits of what he can address.
